Eddie was actually one of New York's finest before he was a rocker. This vid kindof goes back to those roots. Like he was a good cop who really did care aboutcertain "good kids" going down the wrong road in life.

The address given at the end of the video in the radio chatter is 357 West 35th Street. This address is actually Midtown South Precinct of the NYPD. I doubt there would be a robbery in progress going on there, but well played, Mr. Money!

For those who might wonder about the origins of the stage name Eddie Money, it had/has nothing to do with cash money. Eddie's real last name was Mahoney, which is pronounced in Ireland and the Irish language as /Ma-ney/ and not /Ma-ho-ny/. That is the correct pronunciation of the name and any Irish-Americans with that name and connections to the old country know this. Since Money and /Mah-ny/ sound so similar (they're minimal pairs) it's obvious why he chose that spelling, especially because it gave a more glitzy meaning to his last name. BTW, when immigrants came into the USA back in the 19th Century the immigration officers at Ellis Island Americanized any name they didn't know. When they didn't know it they pronounced it as it looked to them were it English. Since to any American-English speaker, the name Mahoney is automatically pronounced phonetically with all the syllables voiced, that pronunciation became the standard in the USA. However, to the Irish, especially those with ethnic connections to Ireland, they know that it is pronounced Mahny. I only know this because I live in Europe and have a close friend from Ireland named O'Mahony and he corrected my pronunciation right from the moment we met.
