It’s not the pale moon that excites me that thrills me and delights me, oh no it’s just the nearness of you.
It’s not just your sweet conversation
that brings the sensation, oh no it’s just the nearness of you.
When you’re in my arms
and I hold you so close to me all my wildest dreams come true.
I need no soft lights to enchant me if you only grant me the life
to hold you ever so tight
and to feel in the night
the nearness of you.
People always compare her to Marilyn and I get it however She was her own esteem. Both were beautiful beyond measure however Dorothy's talent was dynamic and natural a absolute triple threat. They were both actually good friends and both sadly destroyed by the sexist racist male dominated Hollywood machine. If only Dorothy knew the doors she busted down so others could walk through. Simply a Goddess.
Dorothy was naturally beautiful and talented than those all white beauties yesterday, today n forever...she was born in an era where her existence as a black woman was an abomination to so called well developed white society in west but she left her essence as a human being that she is as dear to God as them by standing her right in every way...she was beautiful and she was talentted....more than those who deserve to be so
I love Dorothy so much, just wish people knew more about her. I pray one day I can do a remake of her movie, I love her so much and we have the same birthday November 9th. It's literally destined to be! I want to be an actress as well.
I know of her because of my mom and dad introduce me and my sisters to Dorothy Dandrige when we were little gjrls. She to me lost her way through the lack of self love and looking for love in all the wrong places. She lost herself through worthless men and low self-esteem and no love and didn't know her worth. She was so worth it.
