His version is the best! Quite haunting in a way - loved it then in the seventies, love it just as much now. Funny how music taps into emotions so strongly. I remember listening to this track on one of the first vinyl singles I'd bought, and feeling that the world was at my feet. Listening to it now in my late fifties, I can easily tune into those great feelings!

Brilliant record back in 73 and still brill now... it's what reminds my Mum of my Dad when she hears it & she's 81 now... Dad passed away at the age of 54 and he always used to turn it up on the radio & shout "their playing your song honey"

What a great sound!!!! This was the first record i ever bought. Am i right in thinking Dave Edmunds played all the instruments on this and did all the backing tracks too? I seem to remember watching a report about him recording this on the BBC Nationwide programme.
