Having had the film of Fake News pulled from my eyes I wonder what government this song doesn't apply to.

Three days after the election of Donald J Trump, this song takes on a very different meaning. Never in my life did I think I would look back on W's presidency with nostalgia.

Half the comments are politics and half are WTNV references and I think that's a good balance.

Well crafted song with some fine lyrics. However, I'm a bit disgusted with William's attempts to downplay the political element, long after the song was made. She claimed that it was not really about the Bush administration, wen the song is clearly, obviously aimed directly at Bush-era foreign policy, and Bush himself. I think it's important for artists to be honest, if they're going to use their music for political purposes, REGARDLESS of whether we agree with those politics or not. Otherwise, it's just (well crafted) propaganda.

How appalling that the USA tortures people! And how horrible that no one seems to care, that we are not saying to our president that we will not allow to say it is in our name. It is never in my name!

I know this song was probably meant for contemporary US politics, but "the sun never sets on my dungeons or my army" sounds very close to the famous phrase "the sun never sets on the British Empire" which reflects their history of imperialism and colonialist expansionism. This song could easily apply to older empires as well as newer ones, because they can have similar characteristics of their reign throughout world history.

Very nicely done -- not quite "there" yet, but on the right track.

dials a telephone number "Hello, is this Strex Corp? Yes, I think I have found your theme song, it must have escaped from your laboratories."
