I always smirk when 'Rock Around the Clock' is called the first Rock & Roll song (don't get me wrong, it is a legendary tune) but despite the fact that 'first' is debatable, I'm always surprised that it is not called the 'last' swing song, because that's what it is: swing, swing, swing.
