I got to meet Hopkins in 1974 when he was playing at a bar in Greenwich Village. Interesting, interesting and intelligent guy.

This arrangement walked the picket fence of style between the Jazz Age and the Swing Era. And I have to agree that very few people in 1932, even in the black community in Harlem knew much about some of the cutting edge stuff that was being composed and arranged.
