Great composition by Charles Lloyd who recorded a definitive live version on his album of the same name. This original version is quite differnet with Gabor on the guitar and the bass solo. Wonderful and Uplifting music!

This was a big hit in the 60's in the southern California where I would cut college lectures to go surfing in storm surf or skiing in the Sierra mountains after a big snowstorm. This tune reminds me of that wonderful time in my life. Mahalo for posting. Aloha!

I first heard this "Forest Flower" version on the juke box in a Greenwich Village bar called, "The Ninth Circle," in the 1960s. At the time the "Circle" attracted a mixed (men/women, blacks/whites) and jazz hip crowd; including many NYU coeds, who I dated. I think it subsequently went out of business. I don't know what's there today.

I used to dig this when I was in high school. It still sounds great. It is actually refreshing to hear it again after all these years. The original version of Forest Flower.
