Some of Chicago's song seem to have a strong latin influence in sound, particularly this gem. Where I come from (CALI) lots of latinos love Chicago. Just change the "G" To "N" baby, you got it homie!
When I was 10 years old
At summer camp
I met this blonde girl named
Joanna she was in her ywenties
I was only 10. i fell in love with her
She treated me like a kid that was back in 1974 this song reminds me of her I never saw her again
After the summer of 1974
She wore an opal ring
I wamna buy an opal ring
In remembrances to her
This was our song hers
And mine.
She is probley married and forgotten me by now im sure
But i did love her
And this song reminds me of her
The feelin' was clear
Clear as a blue sky on a Sunday day
Everything was you, woah oh
'Cause no one made me feel
The way I felt with you, oh oh
Call on me 'cause
I love you
You know I do
You love me too
Then came a change
When I said I would soon be leavin' you
Nothin' else to do
Please remember I never lose the thought of you
Call on me 'cause
I love you
You know I do
You love me too
Oh, oh, oh, oh
You've got to find
Someone else to somehow take my place
Share his life with you, woah oh
But if you need a friend
You can always count on me
Count on me 'cause
I love you
You know I do
You love me too
You can count on me oh
You can count on me
You can count on me baby
You can count on me
You can count on me oh
You can count on me
You can count on me baby
You can count on me
You can count on me oh
You can count on me
You can count on me baby
You can count on me
You can count on me oh
You can count on me
You can count on me baby
You can count on me
According to Terry Kath, Robert Lamm and James Pankow, Laudir de Oliveira, the Brazilian percussionist of the band by that time, was an incredible player who maintained the tempo steady of the Chicago songs from the albums "Chicago VI and onwards". We can appreciate his talent in this beautiful song! What we can say on his favour is that he passed away whilst performing on stage in his native Rio de Janeiro due to a heart attack. He fortunately died happy!
