Candi's the best. And Glaydys Knights...what a duette?

The first time I heard this I immediately fell in love with this version..... Candi is timeless..

In 1970, Elvis Presley took his version to No.2 in the UK, Candi Staton's version only reached No.32 in the UK in 1982. Although I actually prefer Elvis' version, I think that Candi deserved to get higher than she did with her excellent cover version.

Elvis' version is my all time favourite, but Candi's voice has a certain quality of melancholy and sadness that I like and that suits this song very well.
