When night falls
She cloaks the world
In impenetrable darkness
A chill rises
From the soil
And contaminates the air
Suddenly…
Life has new meaning
When night falls
She cloaks the world
In impenetrable darkness
A chill rises from the soil
And contaminates the air

About the album cover: the woman is blowing the "lur", Norways oldest instrument. It is way back from the bronse age 4000 years ago! The first ones is (of course!) made of bronse, and found in swamps together with axes, swords and female jewelry (also made in bronse ...). They put it there as an obligation for the early Good (the Sun). Later they were made of bark from birch trees (as the one on the drawing on the album cover), and used to call home the livestock. The drawing is by Theodor Kittelsen (1857-1914). Varg (old Norwegian word for wolf (ulv in Norwegian)) used Kittelsen's drawings on other album covers as well (you will recognize them ...). As some of you may know; Varg did not approve the christianity displacing old Nordic godly faith (hence to the curch burnings ...)
