i got really into BH from the well known classics like that'll be the day everyday & peggy sue etc etc but after all these years my fav BH songs are his early rockabilly songs, blue days, midnight shift, love me, come out tonight, ollie vee & i think my fav is gonna set my foot down ... what a jam that one is
We had this summer assignment to read a biography about someone and write about their life. I choose the great Buddy Holly. I told my grandma and she was surprised that I knew who he was. She said that she danced to his music when she was younger. I wish we had actual talented people in the music industry today. There are a few who are actually good. Most of them are there because they look good. I hate that about my generation. It is annoying.
Lubbock, Texas: - Lubbock is jam-packed with stops along the Buddy Holly Trail.
There is the 8 1/2-ft. bronze statue of rock 'n roll legend playing his guitar, circled by a Walk of Fame honoring other West Texas musicians, like Waylon Jennings and Mac Davis.
The voice on this guy was unbelievable. My band was trying to figure out how to play this and the drummer couldn't get the right beat until we figured out it's a basic polka beat 1-2 1-2... It's Hollys voice that makes you think the beat is more complicated than it really is
This is my favorite Buddy Holly song. Although, I love them all. They are all so well and written in the short lifetime he had. Rock n' Roll in heaven Buddy Holly
Across the street from the statue, at the Buddy Holly Museum, visitors will find plenty about the career of Holly -- including his personal record collection and his 1955 bedroom furniture, which was kept by his parents until the 1990s. Outside the museum, a sculpture of giant Holly-esque glasses is a popular photo opportunity.
