Actuallly, Jimi Hendrix' version was also a cover

I remember listening to this cover when I was a teenager. There was a Jimi Hendrix tribute CD with a bunch of Hendrix' songs played by other artists. One of them was Hey Joe. In my opinion the best cover ever done to this song.

Generally I don't like covers, but I'm impressed by this one...

body count kills. these boys are hardcore rockers. This is a great cover of one of the great classics. nicely done gentlemen...just picked up the new album...fu--in' heavy!!!

I think this is the best and most honest thing Body count has done.  No hype, no controversy, just a great song. I don't inderstand why Hendrix is not held up as a idol in the black community.  He was a musical genius.  There are very few of those.  Mozart for example.  There should be a national Jimi day in the African American community.  Pure genius.  Never seen his like before, and never seen it since.
