Up Madison, down Park, every day and often after dark
Pretending that we’ll meet
Each time I turn a corner, I walk a little faster
Pretending life is sweet
‘Cause love’s around the corner, I walk a little faster
Can’t begin to see my future shine as yet
No sign as yet, you’re mine as yet
Rushing toward a face I can’t define as yet
Keep bumping into walls taking lots of falls
But even though I meet at each and every corner
With nothing but disaster
I set my chin a little higher, hope a little longer
Build a little stringer castle in the air
And thinking you’ll be there, I walk a little faster
Wow she was really good. She reminds me of what the old time Hollywood movie stars would sound like if most of them werent dubbed. Kind of like Debby Reynolds and Conny Stevens. I like this kind of pop singing., so unpretensious.
Perfection. Tony Bennett's version's sublime...but the stripped-down poignancy of Blossom Dearie's version just makes me melt. Thanks for posting this!
One of my patients told me I sounded like Blossom Dearie and I looked for her and found her. Thank you Dave for educating me. I love her. I hope you get well soon
I remember blossom from the Jack Paar show so many years ago. Does anyone else remember those great old days with Jack and his wacky wonderful friends???
