You'll take the ride to leave this town along that yellow line
You'll find a life on the outside
You can't deny the walks too long, you'll get there in half the time
If you take a seat ion the shotgun side
Tahoma calls. It's waiting there to get rid of us all
When the big on comes better hope the car don't stall
Better hop on in the pass will close if the clouds start rolling in
Can't take the thought of being stuck again.
Love the comments mentioning how you can hear so much Slint going on in the song. Couldn't agree more. Kind of reminds me if like, Good Morning Captain and I Can See Houses by Failure had a baby. Really awesome song.
I always envisioned myself walking along some desolate road hitchhiking, and a doppleganger drives by me and pulls over. We drive and drive and drive, as the voice samples come in I realize it was all a dream and im awakened to some sadistic looking storm in the sky.
My brother showed me this after I left the house for the first time. My home situation with my mother was shit but I had to take a ride from her over the pass to get to the next city over. Had to leave before the pass got snowy and closed off. This song was written about my area of the country too. It's a little odd.
