This song totally changed my life. Because of this song in 1984, I turned myself from a dreamer to a doer. Not only I pursued my dreams, but I also moved to USA to find God. For past 14 years being here, luckily so many times I could reach God while in sleep, and I have enjoyed my life in NJ. I hope this year, those melodies and memories in my heart can be forged into good songs.I really like Barbra and the writer of "A piece of Sky " know that they have saved and changed several people's life
Epic! "Yentl" is a Masterpiece. Like Spielberg said, Streisand gave the best debut in directing since Orson Welles in "Citizen Kane".
"A Piece of Sky", with inceptions of "Papa, Can You Hear Me?" In this scene is completely stunning. I agree its her greatest artistic achievement.
It's a legendary ending for an amazing movie, made for a remarkable actress, singer, composer, writer, producer and director.
Babs is a genius. She's the greatest show woman in all times!
Someone once described Streisand's voice as smooth as "mercury on dry ice". When Yentl was released, this scene was criticized as out of step with the rest of the film. For me, time has proven otherwise. I sat in the Ziegfield theatre in NYC 30 years ago when Yentl opened in very limited release and was amazed. Today, to me, this scene represents the very pinnacle of Streisand's greatest artistic achievement. Dreamers like Streisand achieve the unachievable by simply believing nothing is impossible. What an inspiration.

The greatest, most beautiful and miraculous singing voice ever. Barbra's voice is one of the natural wonders of the world. Pure joy listening to her sing.
TAKE NOTE, POPULAR- SINGERS OF TODAY: this is what singing was meant to be and to be conveyed so beautifully.....not a flaw in her voice/singing and no autotuning......I dare any of you to hold a note as long and as perfect as Babs does.
