Agreed, not the same as the 45 version. Not spotted the similarity to Totem Pole before (or Howard's Way as it later became) but I can now see it. I thought it was from an original classical theme (Rachmaninoff maybe?)

I do tend to favour the version recorded in 1960 by The Piltdown Men, 'Piltdown Rides Again'!!

Please flip it and play The Moon & The Sea, a slow version of Totem Pole by Peter Jay & Jaywalkers, nice tune, no doubt both nicked from same source. The flip of 45 is not same version as CD of Bumble's hits IMHO

This band represents interresting creativity of the early 60's, not only the Nut Rocker, thanks to Mr. Kim Fowley!

This tune was also the theme for the British TV series WILLIAM TELL. When it came to the U.S. they were told that melody represents another adventure hero here. So they used another portion of the WILLIAM TELL OVERTURE for the series theme here in the United States.

Somehow I missed this one back in '62. Thanks for sharing it. You William Tell fans might also like the Piltdown Men's "Piltdown Rides Again" also on YT.
