When the playing field is level and skin color is not a factor, Arthur Gunter's original version of "Baby Let's Play House" should be considered Rockabilly. It originated in Nashville and the guitar is totally devoid of amplification. That's why Elvis Presley's version sounds so natural and effortless. I figure it this way: know Elvis' version because it inspired others to play Rock and Roll, but NEVER forget Arthur Gunter's original, because it inspired Elvis (and The Beatles).
