It's sad that there's people out there who are only familiar to his Come to Daddy hit in the late 90's. Unaware to his brilliant body of work of other masterpieces.
my dog died a few days ago. he was 16 years old. I used to walk him for hours at a time on the trails near my home with selected ambient works on repeat. I lost alot of weight and it was good for the dog too. it's funny how a song can instantly bring you back ten years. I'm back on that trail with my happy, healthy doggo. idk. just sharing a memory. peace to all of you.
It’s been 9 years. 9 years since the first time I heard this and it changed my life. I still remember thinking “ah, this is how techno sounds like then “ while I was in the computer room in Ahmad’s room. Where he introduced me to this... then he woke up from the music.. and instead of telling me shut it off or lower the volume like he always does... he just smiled and said “ there you go.. now you get it”.
Well Ahmad, I really do.. it’s still my favorite album of all time and you’re still my favorite friend of all time. I miss you buddy. I’ve been missing you for 7 years. Thank you for everything... I did it man.. I have a studio and I’m a musician and everything... I did it... I did it because of you.
I honestly think that in the future Richard ~ Aphex Twin's music will be remembered for what it is and that is total audio perfection in his field, and he will be remembered in the future as a pioneer and a musical genius comparable to how we think of say Mozart today.
this song tells such an elegant story without words its almost indescribable you can tell he put his soul into it. not to sound corny but this has to be one of the best songs in its genre, can i get an amen
This has traveled with me now for about 20 years or so. I still love it as much as when I first heard it - hard to believe how much time has passed. A gem in electronic music history.
