I was a member of Alma Cogan's fan club as a boy of 13 or so. I loved her ! Such a dedicated and cheerful performer, and those 'novelty' song just fine for her voice. For some time now I have had this wonderful idea ! Let us have a television programme of her songs being sung by Dame Shirley Bassey and Petula Clark, (who also deserves the same recognition as Shirley for her own work on the international stage). These ladies were Alma's contemporaries but with quite different singing styles. It would be most thrilling to hear Alma's songs again now being rendered by her contemporaries, maybe in their own style or with some slight vocal deference to Alma. I would call the TV special, 'Remembering Alma' and I am sure that it would be a great hit. TV Producers: Please take note !!
Alma was a very talented singer she had many hits. She also had her own TV show. She was renowned for her beautiful gowns. She did lots of covers of other songs which split the sales of the records somewhat. I admired her very much
I think this dividing of your uploads is really not a good idea. I've subscribed the channels I found by incident, but it seems there are much more. Why this nonsense?
