the time of year
No grief and pain, will find you home, there ll be no more sorrow
Sure as the stars shine above, christmas and new year s Please, there ll be no more sorrow
I have no friends, christmas carols, to have the blues
Short interlude, then won t you tell me you ll never more roam
but i ll be happy
by candlelight
the time of year
sure as the stars shine above
then won t you tell me you ll never more roam
I have no friends, no grief and pain, then i ll be happy
Friends and relations, bells will be ringing
If not for christmas, it s christmas time
no more sorrow
To wish me greetings, short interlude
please come home for christmas
no grief and pain
To have the blues, but i ll be happy
My baby s gone, choirs will be singing
By candlelight, to have the blues
no more sorrow
to wish me greetings
Please come home for christmas, i have no friends, the time of year
My family & I caught Aaron's concert at The Peace Center, in Greenville, SC, last December. OMG! If you like this song in a recording, you SHOULD hear it live!!!
Why This song reminds me of my sister in Los Angeles she passed three years ago and man she used to play This Record every time I would come home to Los Angeles I miss you too I love you Jean may you rest in peace Merry Christmas
Seldom is a cover as good as the original, but this is clearly an exception. Aaron Neville takes Charles Brown's version and makes it many times better, beautiful to listen to.
Mr. Neville's version of this song is one of the only Xmas songs I actually LIKE. I'll listen to the rest of them during the holiday season, but this one I'll listen to any time of the year.
My one and only favorite Christmas song since I was a little girl and still my all time favorite!!!! My father and mom would dance us to sleep to this song when I was little for Christmas and now my husband and I dance and dance my babies to sleep!
My mom played this album by him every Christmas morning while opening our presents, for as long as I can remember. Just recently this last Christmas, she bought the cd's for my brother, sister and I. Will never forget that.
