I had just smoked some real good weed when I first heard this MONSTER. It took me over to the other side been there every since. don't smoke weed any more, but I still have this on my I pod, on I tunes, on a mixed cd, on here and any where else I can keep it. I goes great with coffee.

this is their best cut, the whole thing grooves  and holds together like no other, every part distinct, yet unified

What perfect blending of American "Back-Alley" Funk with Nile Crocodile/Asp-calming Sudanese Tribal primitive instrumental flourishes; I could raft down the Schuylkill or upper Nile River in confidence playing this!

Can people stop comparing? All the bassists from WR were influential and fantastic, that's it !

First Weather Report album I purchased, they turned me on to Great music, THE BEST, I learned a lot about this art, they went beyond the basic.

Sweetnighter, I Sing..... and MysteriousTraveller are in my opinion the best WR albums, but then they are all great! Thier music changed my life and their albums will always be reminders of the 70's and 80's for me.

It crazy that Jaco Pastorious has overshadowed these two great bassists in Alfonso Johnson and Miroslav Vitous who played on far more innovative records for Weather Report than Jaco ever did! Their recordings from the early 70s are the jewels of that entire genre of music. It just goes to show what happens when you get too popular...people with a less discerning start listening and proclaiming who's the best...sad but not very surprising.

I agree with you Tim but House producers now are recognising Miroslav's quality.
