Amazing what Bruce Welch does on the rythm guitar! I am an amateur guitarist for now 35 years and I learned by listening to Hendrix, Clapton, Gallagher, Blackmore, Green, Richard and many others. Bruce Welch is my favourite rythm player.

Most guitarists will find it much easier to learn Hank's part than to play like Bruce!! Only one other British rhythm guitarist in Britain at the time could match him for fast smooth strumming: John McNally of The Searchers.

I can remember rushing out to buy this single - cost 6 shillings and sixpence. It was released on Columbia green label. It was featured in the film - 'The Young Ones.' Shadows' were so accomplished.

I love how the drum fills sound like he's nearly not going to make it. The Shadows are one of my favourite bands ever, and it's the little mistakes they make when you listen carefully that makes it so human and real.

The ORIGINAL  line up of Hank, Bruce, Jet and Tony IS THE BEST EVER of the Shadows with "immortal" hits like Apache, Wonderful Land, the Savage, etc.....

Always thought it rather odd that the Shadows never wanted this out as a single...for e its one of their best...and watching them mime to it in The Young Ones movie was such a delight.
