The way the guitar rings out reminds me of how 7 Seconds sounded on Ourselves 8 years later in 1988.

Criminally under rated band of that time. Should never have went to polydor, always played second fiddle to The Jam.

A band that definitely deserved better.....picked up some of their stuff recently. Well worth it. I often puzzle how stuff like this wasn't a bigger hit at the time -  my conclusion is that  there was an explosion of really good stuff back then and secondly, it's a testament to Wellers very strong song writing for The Jam that they put even great stuff like this in the shade. Kayser hit the nail on the head....playing 2nd fiddle to The Jam is the last place you needed to be.
