i went there in this unforgetabel night .... mitch had a bit trouble with his own line up and the audience where so anti for him ... so i had tears in my eyes, because this piece is so beautifull and better then the doors ( for me ). And also the rest where absolutly brilliant !!!!!!

Love this period of Mitch Ryder, But; this night could could have been even better if there wasn't delays and problems leading up to them being loaded beyond what is acceptable for a paying audience. Nontheless this was an important night for music lovers, and I personally like Rick Sheins playing a lot.

I don’t think the audience understood he was imitating Jim Morrison. I will say this and I’m a big Morrison fan. Mitch’s vocals would have blown Jim off the stage.

I was friends with Wilson Owens the drummer on this song. He loved my Slingerland octa plus set. You can see he's got a lot of toms on his kit too.

Saw it on television as it was broadcasted in Sweden. Nils Lofgren had his show the same night. Sweden in the late 70:s didn't have much of this kind of high class shows. Tension run high between the members of Mitch band and Mitch himself, as he had drunk a lot for days. That put a lot of energy to the band. The infamous interview with Banks before the show is iconic. When the rubber hits the road, Mitch and the band delivers, it's showmanship at it's best. Superb.

Mitch is still great until today! His band here in 1979 was brilliant, sounding awesome together. I saw Mitch some more times in the last 18 years and I love his music same as ever.

I am ECSTATIC to find this recording. So if people down below are posting shit about him, I’m gonna play it safe and just not read it. I can get nastier than you might think. I saw Mitch do this (and 2 or 3 smoking more sets) to a rather thin crowd but he put it out all night. Probably a few years after this performance because he’d made Soul Kitchen even more his own. And his voice had even more cigarette-and-whiskey growl. Didn’t hurt my feelings.

Saw Mitch perform this in a small club in early 80's...blew me away. He puts the soul into the song.
