Feel sad that you have left us here on earth, feeling even more blessed I got one last chance to see you in 2013 at the Detroit Jazz Fest. Yet I know with Trane's original quartet now reunited, I know you are happy and those ivory keys live on. Thank you for the gems you left us with McCoy. Enjoy the journey. All of you were "A Love Supreme".

RIP. A great man and truly one of the most genius musicians to have ever graced humankind. I thank the spiritual force and unflinching energy of his improvisation for changing the way I perceive music and leading me to understand an entirely novel dimension of thought and emotion. All I can feel is gratitude.

Exquisite, sublime, deeply spiritual. An example (one of many) why Tyner had no business ever being cast in Coltrane's shadow; they were kindred equals in every sense.

On Contemplation: Do people realize that McCoy has a very spiritual bearing. Indeed one wonders how much of an influence he was in collaboration with John Coltrane. He is  a great Jazz Pianist.  Yet he also had a spiritual grounding - let me explain!!! McCoy had/ has a sensitivity for the earth and other human beings that is rare among his generation and all generations of North American musicians be they Black or White . If there is a God McCoy is a good entrance point. God Bless Him!

I only came by this gentleman's music about a year ago; what a revelation and a blessing.

Alfred McCoy Tyner, Rest in Peace. In the 70s, I could not get enough of this man's playing, especially this song. I would stop by a friend's apt. and beg her just to play a track or two for me and then I'd move on. Better than an expresso. BTW, Elvin Jones's drum work on this cut is just too much. These cats were in a zone for this album. To this day, it remains one of the most powerful musical influences on my life.

Farewell then, McCoy Tyner. Had the pleasure of watching him at Pendley Manor in `85, as a replacement for Art Blakey, I was n`t disappointed. Rest Easy MT.
