Most passionate intro i've ever heard...

It was about 1963 when my Dad brought this recording home. Dad was and is a tenor sax player and a good one. Dad is a pro and has worked with some of the greats. Dads one criticism of Trane is that Trane used a metal mouthpiece; "makes it too easy". It has taken his non-musical son 50 years to bring him around. I have asked my wife to play " I want to talk about you" at my funeral. I hope my Dad is there.     

This recording is “So Cool”and“So Beautiful”.

I’ve been listening to this song constantly all week, in the car, iPhone, it’s so compulsive. A super piece from a wonderful musician. The tone of the tenor is smooth like silk. Flawless..

Red Garland, was at his best, on this cut.

How I would love to meet John! Only geniuses excel in the two outer ends (my opinion) of Jazz, hard bop and ballads. Oh John... we miss you, like we miss all those you played with.
