Love the Olsen organization -- and this song!  I must admit that my favorite version has Andre Kostelanetz backing Jeanette MacDonald, though!  {always room for one more of a fave, though!}

Beyond the blue horizon lies a land composed solely of the best music of the 1920's and 30's. I think Milton used a similar image in Paradise Lost. A window seat, please, with velvet curtains and a bottle of the finest wine this side of the moon.

Thanks for the link. I'm pretty certain that's the version I once had even though the last time I heard it was over 50 years ago! Many,many thanks again.

When I first heard this, didn't know it was about a train. When I found it was, got intrigued as to the inspiration. This fits the song to a very capital T, and then some.

This song (possibly this verion) was the inspiration for composer Axexander Courage's original Star Trek theme. He said he used to listen to the song on the radio as a kid, and always loved the tune.
