to clear some doubts. This is Duke Pearson's original, performed by Duke Pearson's big band, released in his "How insensitive" album on blue note records in '69, though written around '61 while touring brasil with singer nancy wilson. If you're like me you heard it in the rooftop scene in louie s03e05 and you've been tryin to find this for weeks ;)

Huh, I didn't know that. That makes me appreciate Duke Pearson even more than I already do. My above comment wasn't intended to be disrespectful. I have a lot of respect for Duke, I just think the Donald Byrd version was much better.

This is awesome, I was entranced by it. Just found out about him I now have three of his albums, sent from Atlanta. This one from 1969 is a very good album. Sit back, relax and think.

You know the more and more I listen to this, the more and more I like it. I still love Donald Byrd's version, but I would no longer consider it to be better than Duke Pearson's. I'd consider them both to be pretty even. This has a nice raw feel to it, while the Donald Byrd version is more polished. Both are beautiful though. Different, but beautiful all the same.

This music reaches the far inner depth of human conscious thought on the reflection of humanity- mind, body, and soul... heartache, trials, and sorrow... life, death, and spirit. Simply superb !

I've discovered Pearson looking for "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies (writing "honey honey" on Google I've found Sweet Honey Bee) and I think it's been a good discovery

I'm playing a rain sound video in the background, this music is even sadder now, but it's beautiful ;)
