Del Shannon - Runaway '67 free for downloading

I like this version... It seems to be in the right tempo, not so fast as many standards from the late 50's and early 60's were. The original and this one look like a diamond, before and after polishing.

Love the original, but this version is gold. Definitely my favorite take. Thanks for sharing.

Sad this version wasn't appreciated in 1967 excepting Australia where it made the Top 20. Anyone who thinks the single sounds good really needs to hear an album hifi stereo version played loud.

This is really quite good and the slower tempo works fine. The Spanish-style guitar riffs are very effective, and are reminiscent of those in the later "Hotel California." But wow, do I miss the Musitron solo.

Heard this on Radio 2 last night and got to say what a version it is ,,,, Brilliant song

I had this version on an EP and came to love it as much as the original faster version. It is a monumental song and Del delivers it with such passion.

I love the original, that was the version I grew up with. However, this is excellent.
