This is the most beautiful song ever recorded, especially in the original movie version. We can be transported for a minute or two before we head back to reality.
This is the heart and soul of Disney, this song brought Disney to life, it’s audio is used in the intro with the castle in almost every single one of their movies and will never be forgotten, this song was one of Disney’s greatest creations and I bet they are more than grateful for cliff Edwards supplying such a incredible song for Disney, and no one thought that the song would travel this far and would still be used.
One of my favourite songs of all time, it feels like when you listen to it, it sort of cleanses your soul and gives you hope, which is one thing we all need.
If I could do anything at all, I'd go back in time and help dear Cliff. He didn't deserve an end like that, a handsome man of such talent. I miss you Cliff.
Made the mistake of trying to listen to Christina Aquilera sing this song. If you had never heard the song before, by the time you finished listening to all her vocal gymnastics you would never have any real idea of how the song is supposed to sound. Call me whatever you will (yes I am old) , but the younger singers have forgotten how to let the song be the star!
Cliff Edwards was 45 when he recorded this. He was struggling with drug and alcohol addictions and was a longtime heavy smoker to boot. It's amazing that his voice still had that soulful purity of tone at that point, especially in the high notes. And it breaks your heart.
This always makes me cry.The very best Disney songs have that ache that can make you happy and sad in the same moment. This song though, is made of that ache. Just phenomenal stuff
He was my father's father's brother. He died the year I was born. I wish I had known him. I like to think he would have loved me as family, someone who, like him, had music in their soul. I wish so many things.
