This distinctive voice reminds me of being a little girl in the 70s and her voice was always on the radio.

My brother, son and my husband loves her. I know a lot of men who listen. I was very lucky to have grown up when women artists have true talent.

There are songs from when I was in high school in the early - mid 70s that aren't hard core rockers but that carry me back to those years. Todd Rundgrens" HELLO IT"S ME, Carole King's WILL YOU LOVE ME TOMORROW, Dave Mason's THE LONELY ONE. Van Morrison's TUPELO HONEY, Rod Stewart's entire album EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY and this one to name a few. I know I'd sound like an old curmudgeon to say that the music was better written, more mature and positive about life in general but I don't have to because whenever my nieces and nephews are over and I've got this kind of music playing out in my shop, they always comment on how great it is, how real and moving compared to the "garbage" (their term not mine) on the radio now. i just smile...and crank it up a bit for 'em.

All those crazy nights when I cried myself to sleep Now melodrama never makes me weep anymore 'Cause I haven't got time for the pain I haven't got room for the pain I haven't the need for the pain Not since I've known you You showed me how, how to leave myself behind How to turn down the noise in my mind Now I haven't got time for the pain I haven't got room for the pain I haven't the need for the pain Not since I've known you (repeat chorus) Suffering was the only thing that made me feel I was alive Thought that's just how much it cost to survive in this world 'Til you showed me how, how to fill my heart with love How to open up and drink in all that white light Pouring down from the heaven  Not since I've known you I haven't got time for the pain I haven't got room for the pain I haven't the need for the pain (repeat chorus)

I'm curious what those 41 people voted thumbs down on. This is a perfect orchestration by a singer at the peak of performance.

It was simply impossible to walk down the hallway of my dorm in the early 1970's without hearing a Carly Simon song being played on one of my classmates stereos.  What a wonderfully talented artist.  Thanks for such wonderful memories!!!

One of my favorite records. Hearing it has often helped me to recover from my occasional descents into depression --
