This is impressionism of sound, sounds and vocal not as we know that it is or should be but sound as it is actually perceived in various environments, distant sound/vocals, echoic sound/vocals as if in a cave or canyon, or distant sound/voices in the distance coming through dense fog. Just as the impressionist painters of the late 19th century portrayed the world not as they knew it to be, but as they actually perceived it. So, a recording of this style is the Impressionism of Sound. Fascinating, hypnotic, but not boring, I have had it on loop hours at a time.
