I been disagreeing with everyone's opinions on the first rock song, but this is the first I've heard that's this old and has definitive rock and roll elements. This is the first.

Another contender for the first RnR song in 1948.

Covered by everybody and his brother, but IMO this is the best version of them all.

wow. and so many say rock started with "That's alright Mama" or "Rock Around the Clock". This song was made 6 or 7 years before they were. Elvis may have brought black music to a white audience (and Bill Haley), but this is rock. 70 years old and sounds great.

Great early rock & roll - I prefer this version to Roy Brown or Elvis.
