Dick Dale's original made people say that it was THE surf tune that gave the listener the experience of how brutal surfing can be. Vince however managed to turn it into the feeling of a cruise along the riviera.
I tip my hat off to Vince for turning that tune around in the way he did.

Vince Guaraldi and Dave Brubeck were my "gateway drugs" into all things Cool Jazz! Their "simple" and clean lines really helped me to understand the pure magic of Cool J. And at about age 90, Brubeck is still going!
