this song is a spell, so haunting, so magical, so melancholic...Phil had really something very special.

Arguably, Scott Gorham's greatest ever solo. He just nailed it.

Arguably the best solo that Scott Gorham ever did, which says a lot! Very powerful performance

This is my favorite Lizzy song. So unlike anything they'd done before, dark; haunting and melancholic. And that guitar solo just TEARS through the air. RIP Phil, hope you and Gary are doing good up there bro! :')

This is easily the best track on Lizzy's very impressive final album. Phil never lost his gift, and I miss that guy every damn day.

I remember buying the Thunder and Lightning album on the day it was released 04 March 1983 to be sure I got one of the limited editions with the 12" of four live tracks.

My all time favorite band. Saw them only once. 1979, San Bernardino, Ca.  The Swing Auditorium, they opened for Journey and blew them off the stage. What a show, Phil was just on fucking point that night. They absolutely killed.

NEW LAW! for every guns and roses song played by a radio station, that station MUST, by law, play 5 Thin Lizzy songs, period.

There is a demon among us whose soul belongs in hell Sent here to redeem us, she knows it all to well He comes and goes, he comes and goes, she knows it all too well But when all is said and done The sun goes down She tries her best to leave him, but she is still captured by his spell She knows now she must deceive him, he knows it all to well She comes and goes, she comes and goes, he knows it all too well But when all is said and done The sun goes down She comes and goes, she comes and goes, he knows it all too well But when all is said and done The sun goes down There is a demon within us The sun goes down She tries her best to deceive him The sun goes down

Just as with Bon Scott, never was anyone like Phil Lynott before, and certainly nobody close since; just weak imitations.
