Actually you can get that sound using a VOX Valvetronix amplifier. Surprisingly you can get the 'Fender' sound out of many guitars that are not Fenders. I use a DeArmond X-155 hollowbody with a Bigsby & can get a virtually the same sound. Leave the pickup switch in the central position & play with the amp.
