Why is it that The Ink Spots' music fits so perfectly with a nuclear apocalypse? Their music works great in Fallout and Dr Strangelove.

Hi everyone, my dad song with the original Ink Spots. His name was Matthew Mckinney, the called him Mack. He was drafted in WW 2 when they started recording. His famous base voice would have been on this recording if he wasn't drafted. He was also a Cabineer, he's recorded on there.

This song brings back memories of my wartime service with the Royal Air Force.

Man the lyrics to this song are depressing but the way its sung makes it feel hopeful instead

how many couples probably quietly cried in each other's arms, slow dancing to this before the dude got shipped out to fight in wwii??

Is no one going to mention the fact that this was made during ww2? People actually got the ink spots to sing this for them when they went off to war.

Is there a reason why the beginning of each song by them has the same guitar chord ?

It's sad because what the song really means is that he's died in war and when all his friends and family pass away, they will meet once again heaven

This music will never die, old music is gold, and will live forever(as long as humanity stands). Radio signals sent into the dark cosmos are probably enjoyed by some intelligent life out there(if it exists). So theoretically is already part of the Universe/existence and will live on forever.

I love how they use the same intro to all of their songs so that you instantly know that it's the ink spots. I can see why this would of been important in the years of the wireless. (radio)

They should play this at the end of Fallout 4, during the credits after the game is beat.

We'll meet again Don't know where Don't know when But I know we'll meet again some sunny day Keep smiling through Just like you always do 'Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away So will you please say hello To the folks that I know Tell them I won't be long They'll be happy to know That as you saw me go I was singing this song We'll meet again Don't know where Don't know when But I know we'll meet again some sunny day We'll meet again Don't know where Don't know when But I know we'll meet again some sunny day Keep smiling through Just like you always do 'Til the blue skies Drive the the dark clouds far away.

Doctor Strangelove, Bioshock, Fallout, Gravity Falls, and many remakes and version of this song. It must be the most popular song ever without people knowing that it is.

funny how in almost every one of their songs there comes a point where the dude just speaks the lyrics before the final chorus.
