Stars shine above
The time is right for love
But where are you
The girl I knew
Long ago
I hear our song
How could our love go wrong
Where did you go The girl I knew
Long ago
Remember all the love we shared
And all the times you never cared
Soon there’ll be rain
And with it comes the pain
Of losing you
The girl I knew
Long ago
Remember all the love we shared
And all the times you never cared
Soon there’ll be rain
And with it comes the pain
Of losing you
The girl I knew
Long ago
Great song! Brings back memories of bygone years. I wrote the lyrics with chords on the back page of my HE & SHE chord book and my late brother loved to play it while he was resting from a long walk.
One of my all-time favorites. Lenny Davidson wrote this song. Dave didn't have anything to do with writing it, his name was attached to it as a contractual obligation like all the others his name is attached to. Lenny, Mike and Denis were the writers in the band. Ron Ryan, (whose brother Mick was guitarist in the DC5 before Lenny) was also a primary writer during the early years. Ron wrote Because, Anyway You Want It, Bits & Pieces, Can I Trust You, Sometimes, No Time To Lose, All Of The Time and several others.
NIce song I had forgotten from not hearing it in the last thirty years. Indeed it was long ago when I was Young and listened to this song. Nice to hear again.
Hey canarvonkid, just wanted to know, where are these guys now? I just missed them! They were once a part of my life. I've grown-up with their music arround.
I actually feel that the DC5 were the best recorded band from the original British invasion.. including the Beatles !!...not Better but better recorded.. sound is way full..
It is really nearly incredible all their songs are good ones. All were well thought out and composed not only the music the lyrics but the performance of all of them is what makes them great to hear over fifty years later.
I FORGOT THE MIKE SMITH IS DIED , AN ACCIDENT TOOK PLACE WITH HIM IN THE NINENTIES. HE WAS A MAM WHO PLAYED KEYBOARDS- HE DIED IN CONSEQUENCE OF THIS ACCIDENT.
