We all grew up with Shona and her winning Studio One with this song when she was 16 (well I was ten in '73).. We only had one channel in NZ that the whole country watched on a Sunday night?! So proud she is at last being recognised for her wonderful work over the years. Long overdue!
This fantastic album is possibly just about the best completely lost album out there. "You are The One" would make my best 300 songs, and I believe what Shona put in teenagers' heads in 1973 bore the fruit in 1985 of the nation's staunch opposition to the US nuclear death ships. For music's sake, someone please release this brilliant first album by Shona Laing.
Excellent song which has withstood time well and from memory his may have been penned back in 1971 but performed and released back in '73.

I remember seeing her on tv for the first time singing this song. I loved it, It was on Studio One I think, in 1972.
It was in black and white, with her long hair and acoustic guitar.
