Makes me cry, for a lost childhood. and all the children that thought war was glamorous.

Roger Whittaker is very poetical in his music which melodious and pleasing to the ear.

"If only" I could go back and hear this for the first time again . . . He has been one of my favorite singers for decades now, and this is one of his best songs. Bravo, Roger!

I can't listen to this without getting emotional. Heard it again on the brilliant series "Life on mars" and was taken back to my youth. Love it.

I had the privilege of seeing Roger live in the early 1970s. One of very few performers that sound even better live than on record.
