When real women were women, not the dental perfect, plastic correctness we see today in our 'reinvented' females now. How sad. But this song and group makes up for that. Thanks!

Always listen to this song when I was 7 years old & now I'm 52 years old. Listening to it now brought alot of memories.

Fun facts: Mississippi knocked Dancing Queen by Abba from the UK No. 1 spot on October 10th 1976. It originally entered the chart at No.48 on August 22nd, when Don't Go Breaking My Heart by Elton John and Kiki Dee was no.1. During the time Mississippi took to get to no.1, Dancing Queen had spent a staggering 6 weeks at no.1. Even after losing the no.1 spot, Dancing Queen spent a further 3 weeks in the top 10. Dancing Queen had held off strong competition from The Killing Of Georgie by Rod Stewart, Let Em In by Wings and Can't Get By Without You by the Real Thing for the no.1 spot, before Mississippi finally reached no.1. Mississippi spent 4 weeks at no.1 in the UK, before eventually losing the top spot to If You Leave Me Now by Chicago. And even after losing the top spot, Mississippi spent a further 4 weeks in the top 10. So Mississippi was an incredibly successful single, given the very strong competition from other major artists. And with over 68 million views of this video at time of writing, it has become an all-time classic. I was 13 when Mississippi came out - I'm now 56 - and I remember it as if it was yesterday.
