This gets hectic real fast and then builds up a full head of steam from there.

I love how "Middlesboro" was rhymed with "no where"! lol I live about 50 miles from the Cumberland Gap, so I change the words, slightly...one interesting fact...Cumberland Gap was formed by a crater from a meteor strike!

This gets stuck in my head whenever someone talks about Benedict Cumberbatch.

Heehee, It's boxing day and I just heard this song for the first time! I love how it made my dad dance like a loony, my dog dance like a nutter and my mum tap her foot and shake her head in a manic way! You just know when a song is good when it makes a room full of people and a dog dance!

The released recording was recorded live at Conway Hall 25th January 1957. Joe Meek was the engineer. It would have been Lonnie's 83rd birthday today.

The days when one could hear how an electric arch top sounded, however short discreet.

I'm 64, and haven't thought about Lonnie Donegan for ages ... was looking for Chewing Gum lose it's flavour when I found this. Don't know why; I'm sitting here on a work day, tears running down my face. And the room full of people and the dog dancing was the cream on the cake. Such joy!
