And I swear, every time I expose my ears to a KJ song I've yet to here, I'm always blown away by the sheer quality and emotion in these songs. And this song is just another example of that. This song speaks on so many levels. The first verse I think of the death of my father, the ups and downs I go through every day.
The night he passed away, I sat with him alone from 8pm until 3am for my grandmother to fly in. I washed his hands so many times, saying how i was sorry. The last conversation we had I yelled at him and he ended it with "I will always love you."
On his birthday, (August 13th) My friends and I get together and drink, and talk about him. Remembering all the times we had, the smiles and sadness.I drink my self into oblivion. I'm getting better. I have to survive to make him proud. This song makes me cry every time I hear it, by tears of joy, tears of anger, tears of love. Miss you old timer.

I just celebrated a milestone in May. 30 years of survival since my leukemia diagnosis way back in 1986. This was an inspiring song for me. Every birthday, I take this CD to the local radio station and ask the dj to play this song. I'll never let you get to me. Survival is my victory!
