"Simple As This" I've been in search of stones Making up the pavement of less traveled roads Mining for treasure deep in my bones That I never found Went looking for reverence Tried to find it in a bottle And came back again High on a hash pipe of good intent But it only brought me down Tried institutions of the mind and soul It only taught me what I should not know Oh and the answer well who would have guessed Could be something as simple as this Something as simple as this Traveled to each ocean's end Saw all seven wonders, trying to make some sense Memorized the mantra Confucius said But it only let me down Tried absolution of the mind and soul It only led me where I should not go Oh and the answer well how could I miss Something as simple as this? Something as simple as this I been falling, crashing, breaking All the while you were stood here waiting For me girl Tried liberation of my own free will But it left me looking to get higher still Oh and the answer well who would have guessed Could be something as simple as this? God knows how I could have missed Something as simple as this

I don't really understand why some are kind of angry people came here because of The fault in our stars. It's actually a good thing : heard the song in a movie, found it nice, searched for it, discovered an interesting artist. Why be mad ? And if the song is in the movie, it's because it's a good song from a good artiste and it promotes him. So avoid saying "fuck tfios" if it allowed people to hear about Jack Bugg, even if you didn't like the film/book, it's just a question of taste.

This has become one of my favorite songs because of deep emotional reasons. There's something about the lyrics that targets my existential crisis, and makes me wanna continue with life. Thank you Jake Bugg for making this song.

I don't get why it matters if you knew the song before it was in a movie? Why is everyone always have to one-up one other. Very primitive actions. Just enjoy the song.

I heard this song in the movie theatres while watching The Fault In Our Stars (which my girlfriend forced me to watch, which I actually loved after) and once I heard it I quickly pulled my phone out and shazzamed it :D

He reminds me of Bob Dylan. No doubt about it. How could he wrote such a good song like this? He brings 60's back to this era, when pop mainstream dominated the world. I can't stop listening to this. What a brilliant postmodern folk ballad song!! I'm so glad i have his album :-)

Reminds me a little of Bob Dylan. Anyone else think so?
