This song is literally a poem.
Hozier's lyrics are always poetic but this here;if someone told me this was written by some poet in the 17 th century i would believe it.

Honestly, one of his best songs, hands down. So haunting and chilling. Everything Hozier does is pure genius, it's so refreshing to see an artist like him who pours his whole heart and soul into each song getting the attention that he's getting.

This song conjures up an image of maybe black and white scene maybe with burning cars and stuff like a riot or something and that's without listening to the lyrics (The music alone is so deep and gripping that it creates a very vivid imagery in my mind)

This song is definitely the best on the album, I think. It's so dark and ominous. I first heard it during a long car journey through the country side, during dusk when everything I passed was dark, yet still clearly visible.
My imagination ran wild, and literally whenever I think of this song I'm only able to picture dark British scary stories in my mind which I had thought up as a child.
In hindsight I had a really dark imagination as a child.. I should screen write for AHS.
