Herbie wrote this one himself!! He's a hell of a composer!!! I saw him do this twice with the Headhunters in 1974... Unforgettable!!!

This a true masterpiece of jazz artistry.

I really think the 70's and early 80's was the highest pentacle in music we would ever reach.

After a long day, I like to put this on repeat. It's a wonderful masterpiece. It soothes me every time I listen to it.p

I have to be honest - while there are many songs I've listened to that I love, and have meaning to me, none is as important as "Butterfly". It's transcendent. It's like my soul pouring out. Thank you, Herbie Hancock, and everyone in this band, not sure my life would be the same without having heard this as a teen, and coming back to it all my life.
