Goin' down that country road
Leavin' behind that heavy load
Gettin' away from the city life
Society causes too many fights
CHORUS
Down my country road
Down my country road, oh
Down my country road
Down my country road, road, road
Too much killin' and too many wars
Women and children must be shuttin' their doors
Protect your country and for this you must die
They take your life but they don’t tell you why
CHORUS
Grand Funk had so many awesome songs like this and the ones they are famous for are Some kind of wonderful, locomotion, bad time to be in love etc.not exactly my favorite Grand Funk songs
J remember very well when j bought this LP (1972 sic!). J lived then in Venise and the store was close to Rialto bridge. Since at the time you could listen to the LP before buying it,j was very impressed by the musical line of the bass guitar (and his power!!!). J bought it immediately!!!
Not sure how there can be 24 dislikes. I grew up with GFR starting with my older brother buying "On Time". I was hooked. Saw them twice in Tulsa. 1971 and 1974. R&R HOF is staffed by idiots to ignore these guys yearly.
I got into the wrapped Christmas presents when I was 9 and I peaked to see I was getting this album. I was so excited! I stared at the cover forever. Now 50 years later I contemplate how I got such a gift. “What do you want for Christmas?” “Grand Funk Railroad Survival of course” I must’ve been one cool kid. Ha
