I really like Gene's version of this beautiful classic. He had a great voice. Miss Lilly you have done a super job with all of the photos here - so many that do show Gene's life. This song has been recorded by many artists but I do like Gene's take on this . Even though he started out as a rocker I feel that when he did some country style/ballads music he was at his best. This is a beautiful video,which I have watched many times.(even though it sometimes makes me cry) I cannot express how much I admire and adore Vince, maybe because I love an underdog and I feel he will never get the recogition his talent deserves.At least not in America.When I think of R&R ,this is the first guy am thinking about.Thank you for making me feel like I'm not a voice in the wilderness,thank you for helping to keep Gene Vincent's spirit alive. I've heard many versions of this song from Jimmy Young to Elvis' and although I'm a hardened Elvis fan since the 1950's I have to say this version by Gene has to be the best recording made.
