As many of you know, this song was written about the differing perception of life between animals and humans, especially regarding time and the knowledge that life will one day come to an end. I read that Schuldiner got the idea when he was bonding with his dog. It's crazy how someone (a pet) who is here for such a short time can impact our lives so greatly. I think that's one of the reasons why saying goodbye to a pet can be so hard. They touch our lives unspeakably but leave us much too soon. And unfortunately, Chuck ended up leaving us too soon as well. Thank you so much Chuck for writing such profound music that touches us all. Rest easy I know you're up there in heaven jammin with Dimebag, SRV and the likes.

It's so amazing how Chuck could write such an incredible song, which is actually about animals. He was a huge animal lover.. The chorus lyrics is just unbelievable, nobody writes in that way nowadays, especially in extreme metal. Maybe only Gojira is on the same way.
