Boy do I envy you retailnut. I lost Carl's solo album "Heaven" and I don't know where I can buy another one. Thank goodness I still have his other solo album. There is no one in the world that ever sounded like Carl. Sometimes he also liked to sing a different rough way when he sang "Wild Honey". But I kept saying STOP. Don't ruin your pure voice.

At this moment I am in tears listening to the harmonies at 0:19. It says Carl Wilson but I swear it is angels...

Some believe this song is about Carl's decision to leave the Beach Boys to pursue a solo career. I'm not sure if that's the case, but I do know Carl had the talent and ability to make it on his own. In the long run, he gave up his shot at individual stardom to return to the band that needed him so badly. The BBs were in disarray and free-fall, and Carl's great voice and steadying influence were the only thing that could save them. Carl: unselfish, as always. We miss you, Great Man. RIP!

Carl Wilson was THE heart of The Boys. I have not been able to see them in person since his passing. ----Just couldn't bring myself to do it. He was 98% of why I ever went to see them, which I did 24 times. -----------------------------WolfSky9

Certainly one of the all-time great voices in Pop Music.. so sweet, so expressive.... He is still missed greatly by many of us. The Beach Boys were never quite the same after he passed on. But- at least we have the beautiful music he left us.

I think it was about the breakup of his marriage to Annie.
